Summary

We are seeking an experienced Fiscal Grants Manager to join our team. This role performs advanced accounting, administrative, and technical tasks related to the effective management and compliance of fiscal grants. Maintains a high standard of professionalism in interactions with both internal and external stakeholders. Collaborates with the Vice President of Finance on the development and execution of grant budgets, financial reporting, and procedures for accounting, grant oversight, and audit readiness. Manages monthly payroll processes and carries out additional related duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee grant fiscal management, including the preparation of grant budgets as needed or requested, submission of monthly invoices for reimbursable grants, and preparation of periodic and year-end financial grant reports.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date calendars and records to track due dates, deadlines, and reporting timelines for all grants.
  • Administer payroll processes, including preparing monthly grant payroll allocations, processing payroll, and importing related journal entries into the financial system. Track and maintain timesheet data for grant reporting purposes.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Finance to support monthly and annual financial closings, including audit preparation and the completion of Form 990 tax returns.
  • Promote a team-oriented, collaborative, and service-focused work environment.
  • Provide general support to the Finance team and assist with additional tasks or projects as needed.
  • Take part in regular self-assessments and contribute to the development of personal goals and performance objectives.
  • Perform other administrative and program-related duties as assigned.
  • Actively participate in weekly staff meetings, department meetings, and organization-wide meetings as required.
  • Engage in training and professional development opportunities as time and resources permit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience and demonstrated qualifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience managing accounting functions, preferably within a non-profit organization, or comparable relevant experience.
  • Strong strategic and operational thinking skills with the ability to align financial practices with organizational goals.
  • In-depth knowledge of non-profit budgeting, accounting principles, and financial reporting practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting and payroll software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of grammar and high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively; self-motivated and solution-focused.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
