What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Teen Services position at Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County?
Description of Job Function
The Director of Teen Services is directly responsible for ensuring our Greeley Teen Center is supporting between 100-150 teens in the Weld County community as they navigate a path to becoming productive, caring, responsible citizens when they graduate high school, with a plan for their future. This position must be an advocate and champion for teens in all of the communities we serve and will be expected to create opportunities that help build the 21st Century skills necessary to achieve a great future.
Programming Responsibilities:
- Advise a robust Keystone Club - allowing teens an opportunity to gain valuable leadership and service experience
- Oversee #WeOwnFriday Teen Nights, monthly
- Lead the annual Youth of the Year process
- Ensure impactful, engaging, and high-yield programs are being implemented daily in all Five Core Program Areas (Education, Service & Leadership, The Arts, Sports & Recreation, Health & Wellness)
- Strategically plan new programming as needed to ensure BGCWC is relevant in the minds of todays teens
Operational Responsibilities:
- Actively recruit youth in the community to become teen members
- Work with Clubhouse Directors and parents/guardians to retain current members through their high school years
- Manage the operation of the Greeley Teen Center including daily schedule and staff management
- Maintain daily administrative duties including email, phone, meetings, and community outreach as they pertain to Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County teens
Community Relations Responsibilities:
- Assist in the Capital Campaign fundraising efforts a new Greeley Teen Center as instructed by administration
- Support and oftentimes lead tours of Teen Center for stakeholders including speaking on behalf of Boys & Girls Clubs of the positive impact our programming has on teens
- Establish strong connections with other community leaders and youth development professionals in the same field (e.g., teachers, principals, business owners, social workers, correction officers, etc.)
- Establish and maintain professional and collaborative relationships with parents/guardians of each member
- Maintain partnerships with other local youth serving agencies

Organizational Requirements:
- Regularly (Bi-Weekly) submit safety walk-through reports to the Director of Child Safety
- Drive Club vehicles when necessary
- Work special events as required by the organization, sometimes outside of normal working hours
- Support board committees, when assigned
- Obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications within the first 90 days of employment
- Carry a valid driver’s license and be insurable to drive Club vehicles
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field from accredited college or university, or equivalent trade or apprenticeship program. (I.E. Education, Human Services, Psychology, Education Leadership, etc.) or 4 years of management experience in a non-profit or related field.
