TEEN CENTER COORDINATOR | POSITION DESCRIPTION

REPORTS TO: Site Director

CLASSIFICATION: Part-time, Hourly SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 2PM – 7PM (No holidays, No weekends, No overtime)

PAY/BENEFITS: $13 - $14 per hour (Eligible for Holiday Pay after 6 Months)

POSITION PURPOSE/PRIMARY FUNCTION: Plans, implements, supervises and evaluates activities. Provide positive interaction to teen members throughout Club environment and support main unit as needed.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

Prepare Youth for Success

  • Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes:

· Promote and stimulate program participation.

· Provide program guidance and role modeling to members.

· Create a high impact learning environment by maintaining a positive attitude with youth, staff, and community.

Program Development and Implementation

  • Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for teen members and visitors.
  • Monitor and evaluate teen programs, services, and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the organization at all times.
  • Submit daily activity reports/sign-in sheets and incident reports, prepare program and activity plans.

Supervision

  • Ensures positive youth experiences by coaching, mentoring, and developing members’ experiences with the Club.
  • Capable of maintaining positive and productive work in a high-energy environment.

Self-Development

  • Ensure a productive work environment by participating in weekly staff meetings.
  • ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • May participate in special programs and/or events
  • May be required to drive the Club vehicle
  • Other duties assigned

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, and explain guidelines/instructions.

External: Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members’ parents and others to assist in promoting the Boys & Girls Clubs of West-Central Wisconsin mission and purpose.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. 18 years of age or older

3. Experience in working with children and/or teens

4. Knowledge of youth development

5. Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems

6. Ability to deal with the general public

7. Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth

8. Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment

9. Willingness and ability to participate in requested training

10. Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications

11. Valid State Driver’s License

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day to day activities; superior interpersonal skills; ability to get along with diverse personalities; tactful; mature; flexible. Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment; dependable and responsible. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Physical requirements include: sight, hearing, sitting for more than four hours each day and other physical requirements needed to complete essential functions of the position. Must be able to walk a minimum of 1 mile at a time.
