Job description

Position Summary:

The Electric Motor Service Advisor is responsible for providing operational support to

ensure the smooth functioning of the small motor repair shop. This role involves

inventory management, customer service, and coordination with technicians and other

team members to meet customer needs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Administrative Duties

  • Maintain and update work orders, repair logs, and customer files in the shop’s

database.

  • Process incoming and outgoing shipments of motors, parts, and equipment.
  • Prepare invoices, estimates, and purchase orders accurately and promptly.

2. Customer Service

  • Assist customers in-person, over the phone, or via email with inquiries about

services, repairs, and parts availability.

  • Provide status updates on repairs and coordinate timelines for service

completion.

  • Handle customer complaints or escalate issues to the appropriate personnel.

3. Shop Operations

  • Order parts and materials as needed and verify shipments for accuracy.

4. Coordination and Support

  • Schedule and prioritize jobs in coordination with technicians and the Shop

Manager.

  • Ensure completed jobs are properly documented and ready for customer pickup

or delivery.

  • Assist technicians by locating parts or documentation as required.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Experience in an electrical motor shop, repair facility, or similar environment

(preferred).

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of electrical motors and parts (preferred, training can be

provided).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Comfortable working in a shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and

tools.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily based in a shop environment, with a mix of administrative office work and interaction on the shop floor. Occasional customer interaction may require professionalism and adherence to safety protocols.
