- Battery Cell Technician – Warren, MI
We are looking for a high-performing Battery Cell Innovation Center (BCIC) Technician supporting the design and manufacturing of battery cell technology for electrification programs. As a BCIC Technician you will provide technical equipment/systems, cell manufacturing, and testing support to product engineering teams; while adhering to and enforcing the principles of safe work practices, Quality Management System, and ensuring workplace organization and Lean process standards are maintained. As a Technician I you will exhibit more expertise and training beyond that of the fifth level technician. Your work should be less routine and involve more independent decisions and less supervision. You will work in several departments where you will demonstrate your knowledge, skills, and learning abilities with a nominal amount of cross training.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all required tasks in relation to equipment setup, operation, cleaning, testing, and process checks to ensure reliable and consistent functionality.
- Work consistently in controlled, “clean room” environment while wearing required protective equipment
- Document best practices in battery cell manufacturing processes through standardized work instructions
- Use data collection to make well informed process improvements through corrective action
- Identify and eliminate operational waste through use of Lean manufacturing tools
- Execute problem solving techniques to improve efficiency, quality, and safety
- Maintain good housekeeping, safety practices, and supplies
- Coordinate and exchange findings with engineering personnel outside work group
- Properly dispose of material waste
- Actively participate in team/group Business Plan Deployment meetings
Requirements
- Two-year associate degree in mechanical, chemical, electrical field or equivalent experience
- 2 years previous working experience in a lab environment
- Thorough knowledge of complex mechanical, chemical, and/or electrical concepts
- Working knowledge of computer applications used in lab/manufacturing environments

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
