Brant Beach Yacht Club (BBYC) is seeking enthusiastic, energetic, and positive Cannonball Club Outdoor Assistant Instructors to join our summer youth programs team. If you thrive outside, love working with kids, and enjoy water sports, field trips, and nonstop fun, this is the perfect role for you.
This is not a “sit on the sidelines” job. This is hands-on, high-energy, memory-making work.
About the Cannonball Club
The Cannonball Club (Ages 8 ) is one of BBYC’s most popular and adventure-packed programs. Based out of our South Harbor Facility and running Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., the program is built around:
- Kayaking & paddle boarding
- Tubing & water adventures
- Swimming, tennis & basketball
- Beach trips & High Island excursions
- Crafts, science & cooking activities
- Field trips: mini golf, bowling, go-karting & more

What You’ll Do
As a Cannonball Club Outdoor Assistant Instructor, you will support the Lead Instructor and Director in delivering a safe, joyful, and enriching experience for every camper.
Camper Supervision & Engagement
- Supervise and care for your group of campers throughout the day
- Actively participate in and lead outdoor games, sports, and water activities
- Engage with campers during both structured activities and free play
- Encourage teamwork, confidence, independence, and respect
Program Support
- Help coordinate and transition between activities
- Assist with planning and running daily schedules
- Support up to four field trips during the summer
- Help maintain structure, energy, and flow throughout the day
Safety & Communication
- Create a safe, healthy, and positive environment
- Use positive guidance techniques and calm conflict resolution
- Monitor camper behavior and well-being
- Report incidents, injuries, or concerns to the Director
- Complete required forms and documentation when needed
You’ll Be a Great Fit If You…
- Are energetic, positive, and love being active outdoors
- Enjoy working with children and building relationships
- Are responsible, reliable, and team-oriented
- Have 1–2 years of experience in childcare, camp counseling, coaching, or teaching
- Are passionate about youth development and team spirit
- Communicate clearly and professionally
- Can participate in physically active, outdoor work
- Are CPR/First Aid/AED certified (or willing to be trained)
Schedule
- Seasonal position | Summer 2026 (06/20/2026 to 08/14/2026)
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Some field trips and special activities throughout the season
