Position Overview:Bravent Systems is seeking an experienced Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Admin to join our team in support of a mission-critical federal program. As a RHEL Admin, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the RHEL infrastructure. Your role will involve overseeing system administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the RHEL environment.Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain the RHEL-based server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and patch management.
- Work on RHEL 7.x/8.x and perform system administration tasks such as installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies for optimal reliability.
- Perform system backups and recovery processes to ensure high availability and data protection.
- Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions to enhance the RHEL server environment.
- Create and maintain documentation related to system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Perform vulnerability scans using common tools such as Tenable, HP WebInspect, and others.
- Investigate security breaches, risks, and attacks; create mitigation plans and implement both proactive and retrospective solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Clearance: Active Secret Clearance is required.
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen; candidates with dual citizenship cannot be considered due to federal requirements.
- Experience: At least 7 years of experience working as a system administrator on Linux or Red Hat systems (related experience is acceptable).
- Work Availability: This contract supports systems that require 24x7x365 uptime. Candidates must be willing and able to meet recall requirements, including participation in a rotational on-call schedule.
Preferred Skills (Not Contractually Required):
- Experience in enterprise-level RHEL environments supporting mission-critical operations.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing performance and security issues.
- Familiarity with security compliance frameworks and government cybersecurity protocols.
