What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Aide position at Breakthrough Recovery Outreach?
Position: Behavior Aide
Behavioral modification skills training to children/youth and families in areas of communication skills, healthy socialization skills, anger management, stress management, problem solving, community linkage, crisis intervention, environmental safety, resource identification and client advocacy.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
Demonstrates understanding of the Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) and assists clients in identifying, securing, and sustaining a range of resources needed to facilitate family independence.
3-5 years work experience in behavioral modification, skills training, and education (Preferred)
Knowledge of the DSM-V diagnosis in children/youth
Knowledge of crisis management interventions, intensive case management, and other rehabilitation supports preferred for at-risk children and youth.
Knowledge of the BIRP Progress note documentation.
Group psychoeducation experience.
Good verbal and written communication skills, also excellent interpersonal skills and team player concepts.
- Participate in case management and other services for patients when needed.
Maintain professional knowledge, skills, and abilities through continuing education opportunities.
Weekly home or school/community contacts hours with assigned case load.
Perform weekly direct contact with identified case load for the purpose of teaching budgeting skills, communication skills, environmental safety, and behavioral management.
- Educate child/youth and their families on community resources linkage skills (i.e., Housing, Social Support, Community Involvement, Financial, Healthcare, Transportation, Education and Vocation.)
- Educate child/youth/families on anger management, communication skills, healthy socialization skills, organization skills, coping skills, mental healthcare management.
- Responsible for coordination and arranging schedules for transportation services for children/youth and or family members for therapy appointments, health care appointments etc. on assigned case load.
- Transport children/youth, family members to approved outings for the purpose of enhancing family connectedness and /or reunification.
- Available to help provide services in any or all of the following counties; Butts, Clayton, Cobb, Dekalb, Fulton, Gwinnett and Jackson.
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in the Human Services Field
Bachelor’s Degree in the Human Services Field
High School Diploma /GED with 5 years Human Services experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.94 - $19.20 per hour
