What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cycling Clerk position at BREC Recreation And Park Commission for the Parish of East Baton Rouge?
The Cycling Clerk works at the BMX Track maintaining and supervising the facility. This includes maintenance of rental bicycles on site, maintenance of the BMX Track itself, supervising riders on the BMX Track, registration of racers, setup of race equipment and more. This is a fast-paced job requiring quick decision making, multitasking and accurate processing of paperwork.
Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Certification(s) Required: CPR and First Aid
License(s) Required: Valid LA driver's license.
Other: Experience in Recreation field
- Ability to operate equipment such as: tractor, bobcat, roller, front-end loader, etc. desired
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under high pressure to prevent delays
- Experience or knowledge of BMX Racing/USABMX competition
- Ability to accurately complete paperwork
- Ability to utilize computers and programs such as RecTrac and Moto Maker
- Strong interpersonal skills - ability to work well with children and parents
- Ability to ride a 20" bike
- General bicycle maintenance knowledge desired
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining condition of the BMX Track and mechanical operation of bikes
- Collecting and submitting race fees, completing attendance reports, moto-sheets and financial reports
- Assuming race responsibilities as determined by Facility Manager
- Communicate and ensure compliance with safety policies
Part-time position; scheduled within framework of 5-6 hours per day, 29 hours Maximum per week, may vary according to special events; some weekend and evening work; lunch break daily.
