The Golf Course Greenskeeper works mainly outside, operating equipment and tools to maintain the golf course and grounds.Education Required:High School diploma or equivalent
License(s) Required: Valid LA driver's license
Years Relevant Work Experience: One (1) year experience in construction, repair or maintenance work in outdoor or industrial setting. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Other:
- Knowledge of fertilizing & seeding greens
- Knowledge of safe procedures for handling fertilizers, pesticides & related chemicals
- Good interpersonal skills
- Skill in the operation of hand tools
- Ability to operate golf course, landscape or industrial equipment
- Ability to perform manual labor
- Ability to read and follow simple instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public
- Essential Functions and Duties:
- Mow greens, tees, fairways, and roughs operating a variety of turf maintenance machinery including tractors, carts, mowers, blowers, edger's, trimmers, etc.
- Maintains equipment by washing, cleaning, oiling, lubricating, making minor repairs, etc.
- Loads dirt, sand, and gravel
- Assists in the application of fertilizers, seed, and chemicals
- Assists with installation and repair of irrigation systems
- Collecting debris, keeping golf courses and facilities clean.
- Performs other duties as assigned
