Position Overview

The Middle School Track and Field Coach is responsible for supporting the success of the Middle School Track and Field program. The Middle School Track and Field Coach manages the day-to-day operations of the program while playing a key role in preparing student-athletes for the next level of their athletic journey. All coaches are required to abide by rules and regulations of the NFHS, IMAC Conference and Breck School.

Responsibilities

• Foster a positive team culture – model teamwork, trust, inclusivity, respect and leadership; encourage sportsmanlike conduct at all times.

• Manage and supervise practices and athletic events.

• Work with student athletes to improve their abilities in Middle School Track and Field.

• Partner with coaching staff to provide unity across all levels and teams.

• Encourage and support multisport athletes within Breck.

Qualifications

• Prior playing or coaching experience Track and Field (at the Middle School or High School is preferred).

• Ability to work effectively and positively with adolescent athletes.

• Knowledge of Middle School Track and Field fundamentals and effective coaching techniques and skills, of Middle School Track and Field.

• Experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with school administrators, opponents, staff, parents, and athletes.

• Exhibits professionalism, organizational, communication, delegation, and interpersonal skills.
