The Controller has several years of experience from Big 4 Public Accounting, and the CFO is well-versed in raising capital, bringing companies through commercialization, and taking companies Public. This is the perfect role for someone with 2 years of experience in Public Accounting or 2 years working in a Public Biotech to see an organization grow and IPO.

Corporate Accountant

We are seeking a motivated Corporate Accountant to join our Finance team and support a wide range of accounting activities. This role focuses primarily on day‑to‑day accounting operations and the month-end close process, as well as driving Accounts Payable from Invoice to close and reporting.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their accounting career—whether coming from public or private accounting—to gain hands-on experience and build a strong foundation in accounting practices. Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Assist with month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules (cash, credit cards, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, etc.).
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries.
  • Assist with intercompany transactions and ensure proper accounting treatment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Assist with documentation for external audits and corporate tax filings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Clinical Operations, R&D, Legal, Operations) to ensure proper financial treatment of transactions.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.
  • Manage accounts payable and purchasing processes, including vendor setup, invoice processing, coding, documentation, and policy compliance.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries and outstanding issues.
  • Reconcile and analyze accounts related to accounts payable.


Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Accounts payable experience preferred; biotech/pharma experience a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines independently.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and month-end close processes.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
