$2,911.75 to $3,202.93 biweekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with occasional nights and weekends. Performs professional engineering work planning, designing, reviewing, inspecting and/or implementing assigned projects for the Natural Resources Management Office.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree inCivil Engineering or Environmental Engineering with coursework relating to hydrology and hydraulics. Must have the ability to read plans; knowledge of stormwater terminology; project budgeting and tracking; project oversight; and word processing and spreadsheet calculations.Engineering Intern/Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is desired. [Engineering Intern/Engineer in Training (EIT) is a person who has graduated from an engineering curriculum approved by the Board of Professional Engineers and who has passed the fundamentals of the engineering examination as provided by the rules adopted by that Board]. Experience reading plans, culvert sizing, stormwater terminology, and the use of denitrification for water quality improvements is preferred.Experience Interconnected Channel & Pond Routing (ICPR) modeling and review/perform stormwater nutrient loading calculations for stormwater projects; perform culvert size calculations; and the use of denitrification for water quality improvement is preferred.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain within nine (9) months of employment, a Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Erosion and Sediment Control Inspectors Certification.In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.Both pre-storm and post-storm work will be required.
