Summary
The Artistic Liaison is an integral part of the Brevard Music Center’s Artistic Administration team, and facilitates nearly all aspects of Guest Artist and Artist-Faculty residencies during the summer season. Guest Artists include over 40 soloists and conductors at BMC.
Duties
- Arrange all transportation needs for the Guest Artists to and from the airport, housing, rehearsals, and performances.
- Work with the Artistic Administrator to confirm/arrange housing accommodations and rental cars for Guest Artists.
- Assist in the coordination of Guest Artist itineraries.
- Prepare rehearsal/performance schedules and welcome information to be given to Guest Artists upon their arrival in Brevard.
- Coordinate meeting/rehearsal times between conductors and soloists.
- Coordinate any Guest Artist dinners/social events during their visit.
- Work with the Artistic Administrator and Production Management team to arrange any practice time/facilities or dressing room facilities that are needed throughout the Guest Artist’s stay.
- Assist in fulfilling artist requirements that are listed in the riders provided by the artist’s management.
- Assist in scheduling local media interviews for the Guest Artists.
This position is on call at all times to help handle any other duties/situations that may arise through the season relating to Guest Artists and artistic matters. The Artistic Liaison reports to the Director of Artistic Planning & Educational Programs and works closely with the Department of Instruction & Performance and Production Staff. Other administrative support duties may be assigned by the Program Director and the Artistic Administrator.
The Artistic Liaison works nearly every day of the week and many evenings. A welcoming demeanor, a calm temperament, outstanding interpersonal skills, and a strong sense of personal responsibility and motivation are required.
Other Qualifications
Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Excellent writing and organizational skills.
Must work well under pressure and be able to handle multiple simultaneous deadlines.
Requirements
Complete a satisfactory background check.
Must have a valid state driver's license and possess a clean driving record.
A college degree in music, substantial progress towards such a degree, or extensive knowledge of classical music.
Compensation: includes a season stipend paid bi-weekly, full board, and on-campus housing.
