Are you interested in joining a committed and caring community health clinic? In this role, you are a crucial link between patients and the service and care delivery team. You serve as the first point-of-contact over the phone and when patients arrive. Likewise, you are the last person the patient interacts with when scheduling their next visit. This position is full-time, located in our Wausau, Wisconsin clinic, and will be on average 40 hours (5 days) per week, Monday through Friday, Occasional travel to work at other locations will be required as needed.

Key responsibilities include:
- Greet and screen patients and visitors; obtain and maintain client demographics and schedule follow up appointments accordingly.
- Answer, screen, provide information and route incoming calls.
- Receive coinsurance and account payments, record payment in the client record, maintain cash box.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail, prepare outgoing mail.
- Assist urgent dental/medical needs and appropriately triage to appropriate resource.
- Continuously serve our patients, community, and staff with the utmost respect, discretion, diplomacy and tact.
- Foster patient comfort and trust.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of one year of experience as a clinic receptionist, and/or working with patient registration, and direct patient contact both over the phone and in-person or equivalent work experience.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Strong customer services skills.
- Strong computer proficiency.
- Must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment for duration of shift.
- A valid Wisconsin driver’s license, reliable transportation, and personally held vehicle/automobile liability insurance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary education.
- Experience working in an outpatient clinic.
- Knowledge of dental and or medical terminology.
- Experience working within a scheduling and electronic health record system.
- Bi-lingual in English and Hmong or Spanish.
