Bridge School is seeking a reliable and creative individual to run our Elementary After School Program. Job Title: Duties: Afterschool Child Care Program Director for up to 10 students1. Afterschool Child Care Program Administrator in accordance with Vermont Licensing Regulations for Afterschool Child Care Program a. Hire, train and supervise Afterschool Program staff as needed b.
Provide a safe and fun after school experience for children that is consistent with Bridge Schools mission and philosophy c. Maintain licensed status and follow all program regulations 2. Responsibly maintain physical classroom space. Professional Expectations: -Professional approach to working with children and families-Responsible for providing a safe, healthy, and positive school culture and environment-Use of positive methods of behavior management guidance that meet the individual needs of each child and encourage self control, self direction, self esteem and cooperation-Assist in maintaining all educational and extracurricular programs within the school Management: -Work cooperatively and collaboratively as a member of teaching teams-Report directly to Head of School Education and Experience Requirements: MUST be at least eighteen years of age, possess a BA or BS, and have one of the following: at least twenty months of experience working directly with school age children or Vermont Afterschool Professional Credential or Vermont Program Director Credential or Vermont Teacher Licensure or Masters Degree in a youth-related field And have: -Enthusiasm for multi-grade experiences-Experience or comfort in designing and implementing after-school curriculum and activities-Familiarity with Responsive Classroom teaching concepts or other behavior management strategies-Devotion to child-centered education
