Hospital Laboratory Manager Job Summary:
Laboratory Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the overall operation of laboratory services Plans, manages and supervises the activities of laboratory services. Activities included are: Ensure that lab services are of the best quality, are cost contained and are done in an expeditious manner. Trains or supervises training of other lab staff and Point of Care (POCT) operators to ensure competency. Participates in planning services for other divisions within the facility as it relates to laboratory services and patient care. The Laboratory Manager evaluates quality improvement activities and quality assurance statistics and modifies manuals as needed for effectiveness. Enforces safety procedures and consults with other supervisors about these issues. Consults with local and national regulatory agencies to ensure compliance. Plans workload distribution and makes schedules. The Laboratory Manager supervises purchase of supplies and maintains equipment inventory. Evaluates staff performance.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology (MT)
Licenses/Certification: Current certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP) or equivalent.
Experience: Two years’ acute care facility experience in laboratory services. Experience in regulatory and accreditation of lab operations.
