Custodian - Evenings

The Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District is seeking a full-time Custodian for the George H. Mitchell Elementary School. Please see further details below:

Job Title: Custodian

Schedule: Monday thru Friday

Hours: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Position

REPORTS TO: Director of Facilities

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Uses only supplies and equipment approved by the Director of Facilities
• Maintains the highest possible standards of cleanliness in respective area/school
• Routinely inspects assigned area and fire escapes and reports damage and needed repairs promptly
• Work schedule and changes in assignments are determined by Supervisor
• Conducts summer cleaning program and paint necessary areas as determined by Supervisor
• Participate in annual training for AHERA, Right to Know laws, Bloodborne Pathogens
• Receives and stores deliveries to building as directed
• Responsible for the opening and closing of building and building security
• Maintains flag as per Principal
• Is responsible for snow and ice removal from school walkways, fire escapes, and other areas around buildings as required
• Report and repair minor damage to school property, including graffiti and reports repeated violations
• Change light bulbs as needed without extraordinary measures
• Responsible for cleaning assigned area that includes but is not limited to sweeping, washing, dusting, and trash removal
• Ensures custodian closets, boiler room and other areas of the building are secure from unauthorized access by students and personnel
• Fosters a positive work environment and takes pride in appearance
• Contacts Head Custodian and Director of Facilities whenever absent from work one hour before shift begins or as soon as possible
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Facilities

Physical Demands: Moderate to heavy physical effort is generally required in performing duties in this environment. This position requires the ability to stand, bend, and operate machinery for extended periods of time.
