We are seeking a qualified and motivated Infection Prevention/Wound Care Nurse to join our Nurse Leadership Team
Responsibilities:
- This includes all tracking of infectious disease, staff education related to infection prevention, tracking of staff and resident vaccinations,
- Ensures public health is notified of reportable diseases
- Lead the facility’s Infection and Prevention Control Committee
- Develop action plans to address opportunities for improvement
- Participate in the facility’s QAA Committee
- Implements an annual infection control risk assessment process and participates in the facility’s annual facility assessment review process
- Reviews and/or revises the facility’s infection prevention and control program, its standards, policies, and procedures annually and as needed for changes to the facility assessment to ensure they are effective and in accordance with current standards of practice for preventing and controlling infections
- Provides education related to infection prevention and control principles, policies, and procedures to staff, residents, and families (where appropriate)
- Plan, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the facility education program for nursing assistants in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
- Evaluate resident and staff needs and plan appropriate in-services to meet these needs.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of NJ or Valid
- Five(5) years of progressively responsible nursing experience in clinical setting is preferred.
- Must be computer literate and experience with EMR preferred
- Effective written and oral communication skills required
- Aptitude for problem-solving
- Infection Prevention, QAPI & Wound Care experience is preferred a
- Willing to train the right candidate. Completion of IP Course within 3-6 months of hire would be expected.
