What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Teacher position at Bright Beginnings Childcare?
Assistant Childcare Teacher position available. We are seeking an individual to join our team, who can provide high quality care and education in a creative and child-centered environment that promotes play-based learning, Christian values, and healthy development. This candidate must enjoy working with young children and be reliable to work their scheduled hours. The hours of this position are 9 - 5, Monday through Friday. This candidate will work alongside another teacher and care for children under the age of 2. Individuals without prior certifications will start as an assistant and will need to commit to complete necessary trainings and background checks prior to working in the classroom and DCF childcare teacher certification coursework within 3 months of hire.
Duties
•Provide safe, nurturing, and attentive care to young children.
•Implement lesson plans and child-centered activities from the center's inquiry and play-based curriculum.
•Implement activities consistent with children's development, interests, and learning goals.
•Maintain data and records, complying with state, and other organization regulations.
•Provide consistent and meaningful communication with parents regarding daily activities and child development.
•Promote a positive atmosphere, where respect and dignity is always given to the child.
•Promote health and safety by following center and state guidelines, remaining alert and attentive in all situations.
•Work willingly and cooperatively within a team.
•Attend staff meetings and continuing education opportunities provided by the center.
•Caretaking duties such as feeding, diaper-changing, and toileting.
-Cleaning, sanitizing, and following basic set-up/take down procedures in the classroom when needed before or after FCC’s youth and children’s ministry programming.
-Work consistently as scheduled.
Requirements
Ideal candidates would have training in Early Childhood Education and previous childcare experience, however, a responsible and caring individual with motivation to learn will be equally considered. Will train the right candidate for the Assistant Teacher position.
All candidates must complete a WI DCF Background check and will have all required coursework and certifications completed within 6 months of hire. To qualify as a state-qualified childcare teacher, individuals must have at least 320 hours of experience working within a licensed or certified childcare setting, a private or public school, or other approved setting that complies with the Registry’s requirements along with early childhood coursework completed.
