Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting internal controls and compliance. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and skilled at working across teams to maintain financial accuracy and integrity.

 

General Responsibilities:

·        Financial Data Entry: Accurately enter and classify all financial transactions, including journal entries, bank transactions, and adjustments into the general ledger in accordance with GAAP and company accounting procedures.

·        Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze timely and accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Generate internal management reports as needed for strategic decision-making.

·        General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by reviewing account activity, posting corrections, and ensuring accounts are properly reconciled and supported by appropriate documentation.

·        Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile monthly bank and credit card statements to the general ledger, investigating discrepancies and ensuring accuracy in reported balances.

·        Month-End and Year-End Close: Lead or assist in month-end and year-end close processes by preparing adjusting journal entries, reconciling key accounts, and ensuring all financial activities are recorded in the correct accounting period.

·        Fixed Asset Accounting: Track and record acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation of fixed assets in accordance with internal policies and applicable regulations.

·        Accounts Analysis: Analyze key balance sheet and income statement accounts, identifying trends or variances, and preparing reports and commentary for management.

·        Budgeting and Forecasting Support: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Monitor spending against budgets and prepare variance reports for management review.

·        Internal Controls and Compliance: Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures. Recommend and implement improvements to accounting systems, processes, and internal controls.

·        Audit and Tax Support:

Prepare schedules and documentation to support internal and external audits. Assist with tax filings, including sales tax, property tax, and income tax coordination with third-party providers or internal teams.

·        Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with operations, HR, payroll, and procurement teams to ensure proper coding and financial reporting. Provide guidance on accounting practices and support cross-functional financial needs.

·        All other duties: as assigned by Leadership

 

Position Requirements

·        Standard work week: Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

·        May need to work weekends if business needs require

·        Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function

·        Position requires extended hours when business need requires.

 

Physical & Cognitive Requirements

·        Able to lift up to 20lbs. occasionally

·        Must be able to traverse in all weather conditions and work in extreme temperatures

·        Position requires the ability to stand, squat, & reach

·        Must be able to stand and walk continuously through shift

·        Activities like typing and using a computer mouse can involve repetitive motions

·        Crouch, kneel, bend, or stand for long periods of time

·        Must be able to sit at a desk for 8 plus hours per day

 

Skills and Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

·        3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.

·        Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, or similar ERP).

·        Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.

·        High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.

·        Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits

Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. The Company reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
