At Bright Steps, we believe in trauma-informed, assent-based, child-led therapy. As a Behavior Technician, you will get paid to get down on a child’s level, explore their interests, and be a bright light in their life. Our technicians support children in communication, play skills, social skills, and help teach and shape new behaviors through the science of ABA.

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician to work closely with children on the Autism Spectrum. This role involves implementing behavioral therapy strategies, collecting data, and supporting children’s developmental progress in a clinical or home setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in working with children, learning about special education, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Prior experience in applied behavior analysis (ABA) and patient care is highly valued but not expected at this time. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families!!

Duties

  • Implement individualized behavioral intervention plans based on ABA principles to promote skill development and reduce challenging behaviors.
  • Collect accurate data on client behaviors, progress, and response to interventions to inform ongoing treatment planning.
  • Support children during therapy sessions, ensuring a safe and supportive environment that encourages learning and growth.
  • Maintain detailed medical records, documentation, and reports in compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.

Experience

  • Prior experience working with children is preferred but not necessary.
  • Candidates should demonstrate patience, empathy, strong communication skills, and a commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities.

Qualifications

Required:

  • At least 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability and willingness to provide hands-on personal care
  • Ability to lift children/materials up to 50 lbs as needed
  • Ability to sit, stand, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl as part of play-based therapy
