Weekly Hours: Monday-Thursday, 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.

BrightPath LLC is looking for a Reliable, Engaging, and Punctual Individualized Home Support Specialist (IHSS) to provide support for an active man in his 50s in Richfield, MN. This part-time position is ideal for someone who enjoys staying active, building connections, and supporting someone in their journey toward greater independence.
About the Role
In this role, you’ll be working with someone who enjoys movies, superheroes, and video games. He has a great sense of humor and is looking for someone who can appreciate that and engage with him in a fun, lighthearted way. His goals include staying active through community exercise, visiting the library, and participating in local events to maintain and build his independence.
You'll also need to maintain clear and consistent communication with family members involved in his care to ensure smooth coordination and support. Punctuality and accountability are essential, as he relies on staff to be dependable and consistent.
Key Responsibilities
- Support community exercise activities, including visits to the YMCA and outdoor engagement
- Accompany him to the library and other community activities to foster participation and independence
- Assist with maintaining and promoting independence in daily routines and activities
- Communicate regularly with family members to ensure smooth collaboration and support
- Be punctual and accountable, maintaining a consistent schedule
- Engage with his interests in movies, superheroes, and video games, creating a positive and enjoyable environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 18 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance
- Ability to pass required background checks
- Strong communication skills, particularly in providing updates and coordinating with family
- Punctual and reliable, with a strong focus on accountability
- Comfortable engaging in discussions around movies, superheroes, and video games
- Physically able to participate in community exercise activities
- Experience in a similar role is a plus but not required
