The Doula II provides culturally sensitive support and training using program curriculum to assist at-risk women in early stages of pregnancy to heal from their own trauma and prepare to become mothers. As a Doula II, you will work collaboratively with the Family Support Services team to ensure quality, comprehensive care while creating a service plan for each participant, and then assist in establishing and completing goals. You will maintain a caseload of 10 participants, 2 of which additional documentation will be required for Medicaid billing - complete case notes and other required documentation of services. As a Doula II, you will attend births as requested by the mother and participate in the on-call system and provide back up to traditional doulas as required by the program.

Candidate qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or human service field, or Bachelor's Degree in a field other than human services plus at least one year of Doula experience required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Two years of experience working with children and families required.
  • Completed Doula training required; DONA preferred.
  • Complete the Association for Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health training within 18 months of hire.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to attend in-person family visits and meetings in the Rockford, IL area required.
  • Valid driver's license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle required.

Job details:

  • Compensation: Range starts at $46,000, offers are commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits: Medical/dental/vision insurance, 3 weeks paid time off in the first year including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day (PTO increases with tenure); 11 paid holidays, supplemental insurance options, 401(k) with match (more benefits details here)
  • Location: Hybrid (remote/in office); the Doula provides in-home services to families in the Rockford area, and may have the opportunity to work remotely from a home or assigned office between visits.
  • Schedule: Full-time, salaried, general business hours with some flexibility required for evening and weekend family visits and special occasions.
  • Student Loan Forgiveness: Brightpoint is an approved agency for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
