We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Intake Coordinator to join our team.
The Intake Coordinator is responsible for performing the evaluation and admission process in conjunction with the Clinical Director or designee. The individual will accurately assess each referral for the appropriateness of agency services. The Intake Coordinator will help facilitate the admissions process to ensure that each step is performed accurately and in a timely manner. The Intake Coordinator will as required, provide a diagnostic assessment on all clients referred, gathering information from referral source, client chart and other pertinent sources, including family members and past providers of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinates and supports the agency’s admissions activities and processes; supporting and implementing admissions best-practices; promoting the agency’s services and maintaining a satisfied referral base.
- Responds promptly to referral phone calls and emails, and gather appropriate information required for admission.
- Interviews referring professional to obtain clinical and demographic data and occasionally gathers information from family members. Information gathered must be comprehensive, accurate, and support the need for admission.
- Interacts with patients, family member or referring professional in a courteous and professional manner.
- Coordinates incoming admissions with multiple collaterals and staff including referral source, family members, insurance companies and case managers.
- Ability to work effectively with patients and families who have social, economic, emotional, behavioral or health challenges;
- Ability to provide services to patients and families and treat personal information discreetly and confidentially;
- Completes and manages all paperwork or supportive documentation required for performing effective billing and forwards to billing department.
- Provide periodic reports and summarize trends.
- Discover and explore new referral sources and admissions channels.
Minimum Requirements
- LGPC/LCPC, LGFT/LCMFT, LMSW
- Active Maryland license in good standing
- Interest in providing a minimum of 10 sessions/week
- Access to stable high-speed internet
- Satisfactory CJIS/FBI report.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly to maintain confidentiality
- Demonstrated skill in applying varied interventions with individuals/families in crisis
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of Professional code of Ethics, HIPAA Confidentiality and Privacy Policies.
- Individual professional malpractice liability insurance policy.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $51,000.00 - $71,400.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
