Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to join our growing Finance team. This role is supporting the growth and maintenance capital expenditure program at Brightspeed, including the $2B investment in deploying our fiber network. Reporting to the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, you will be analyzing, modeling and forecasting capital expenditures while dealing with large and complex data sets. You will be hands on in creating informed drivers and analytics with key actionable outputs. You will work closely with the operations team, fixed asset accounting team as well as the broader finance department. This role will also play a fundamental part in driving efficiencies by contributing to ongoing systems and process improvements. You will need prior experience working with capital management and big data as well as strong analytics, excellent communication, and organizational skills. Prior telecommunications experience preferred. The FP&A team at Brightspeed plays a critical role in ensuring the company’s success and helping leadership optimize decision making. As Senior Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis, your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing financial models to steer the budgeting, forecasting and short/long term planning in support of the capital management program
- Manipulating large amounts of data into actionable insights and consumable outputs
- Supporting monthly analysis and reporting packages
- Analyzing drivers of month end variances vs. budgets and drive accountability around cost savings initiatives
- Spearheading the measurement of key performance metrics and visually compelling dashboards
- Partnering with key cross-functional business leads on developing strategies as well as results and forecast expectations

- Identify and assist with implementation and enhancements to financial reporting and planning systems
- Identifying and implementing methods and strategies to continually improve processes and results
- Building and maintaining strong partnerships with the leaders and teams of the supported business units
- Present to and communicate with all levels of the business
Qualifications
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent work experience
- Experience with financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and overall knowledge of accounting and budgeting principles
- Prior experience with capital management, Telecommunications background preferred
- Highly adept in MS Excel with experience building and/or maintaining complex financial models
- Experience working with financial, planning and reporting tools such as SAP ERP (S/4 HANA), Looker and Anaplan
- Experience with managing large data sets with such tools as Google Big Query and Power BI
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills
- Self-starter with demonstrated flexibility and agility in a high growth environment
- Experience building strong relationships with internal business partners

- Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA designation
- 5 years of experience with financial analysis in a large corporate environment
- Ability to prepare financial and accounting records
