Responsibilities
- Recruit, educate and select volunteers
- Establish a need for volunteer services and maintain monthly statistics
- Develop and maintain volunteer training and orientation
- Supervise and evaluate volunteers and maintain current personnel files
- Provide information to individuals and community groups about hospice volunteer services
- Participate in interdisciplinary group meetings
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal legal and regulatory requirements
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- College degree, advanced degree in human services preferred
- 2 years experience in healthcare
- Hospice and/or volunteer experience preferred
- Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care
- Ability to organize and develop volunteer hospice personnel
