About Us

Brilliant Minds Montessori is a privately owned Montessori Preschool in Sanford, FL with a capacity of 50 students. We take a modernized approach to Montessori with a focus on reading, writing and mathematics to best prepare students for grade school.

This position has working hours from 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities:

Classroom Management:

  • Create and maintain a prepared Montessori environment conducive to learning.
  • Organize and arrange materials to facilitate independent exploration and learning.
  • Foster a sense of order and cleanliness within the classroom.

Lesson Planning:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans based on Montessori principles and the needs of individual students.
  • Provide a variety of hands-on, developmentally appropriate activities that promote active learning.
  • Tailor lessons to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

Observation and Assessment:

  • Conduct regular observations of each child's progress and development.
  • Keep detailed records and documentation of student achievements and challenges.
  • Use assessments to inform instructional decisions and identify areas for improvement.

Individualized Instruction:

  • Support each child's unique learning style and pace.
  • Provide one-on-one guidance as needed.
  • Foster a love for learning by recognizing and nurturing individual interests.

Parent Communication:

  • Maintain open and regular communication with parents regarding their child's progress and activities.
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Provide resources and guidance to parents for reinforcing Montessori principles at home.

Classroom Community Building:

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom community.
  • Encourage collaboration, cooperation, and respect among students.
  • Promote a sense of responsibility and independence.

Professional Development:

  • Stay informed about current Montessori education practices and research.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share insights and strategies.

Environment Enhancement:

  • Regularly assess and update the classroom environment to meet the changing needs of students.
  • Create a welcoming and stimulating atmosphere that encourages exploration and creativity.
  • Integrate nature and cultural elements into the learning environment.

Health and Safety:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in the classroom.
  • Familiarize yourself with and adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Implement and communicate emergency procedures to students and staff.

Collaboration with Support Staff:

  • Work closely with other teachers and support staff to ensure a smooth learning environment.
  • Delegate responsibilities and provide guidance as needed.

Cleaning and Classroom Maintenance:

  • Conduct regular cleaning routines throughout the day to ensure a clean and organized learning environment.
  • Teach and encourage students to participate in daily clean-up activities, promoting a sense of responsibility for the classroom space.
  • Ensure that all Montessori materials and equipment are properly sanitized and organized.
  • Supervise and guide students in taking care of their personal and shared classroom belongings.

End-of-Day Deep Cleaning:

  • Conduct a thorough end-of-day deep cleaning of the classroom, including surfaces, materials, and learning areas.
  • Organize and store materials neatly to maintain an orderly environment for the next day.
  • Inspect and replenish cleaning supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with support staff or custodial personnel to address any maintenance issues promptly.

Materials Maintenance:

  • Regularly inspect Montessori materials for wear and tear, repairing or replacing items as necessary.
  • Rotate materials and activities to keep the learning environment engaging and stimulating.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices for materials maintenance and preservation.

Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • Previous experience working with students in an educational setting is beneficial but not required. We are willing to train new teachers in our environment and help teachers get started in a preschool career path.
