Bristol Adult Resource Center (BARC) has an exciting career opportunity for a professional, motivated and caring Manager to work at our Residential homes supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to have fulfilling and happy lives. Position is Full Time and offers sign-on bonus, medical, dental, vision, paid time off, 401k with matching and many other benefits. At least two years of management experience required and at least two years working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred.

The Residential Manager oversees the operation of all assigned residential programs as established by the Bristol Adult Resource Center’s policies, directives, and goals. Acts as an advocate for all individuals served. Shares in 24-Hour responsibility for the residential operations. Provides direct care coverage in the absence of other staff. Ensures individuals live in a home-like atmosphere, providing a clean and safe living environment based upon DDS requirements.
The Residential Manager reports to the Assistant Director of Residential Services.
Work includes assisting individuals living in a clean, safe and comfortable home of their own. Ensure Individuals are treated with dignity, respect, and are supported to exercise their rights and responsibilities.
Fundamental Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the operation of the assigned program. Advocates for personal growth and community inclusion for all individuals served.
- Prepares written reports, conducts assessments, and maintains resident’s files as required.
- Oversees and maintains financial records of individuals fund, benefits, in-house money, supply money and DDS Rent Subsidies as applicable.
- Work with team supporting each individual.
- On call resposibilities.
- Position can include shifts providing direct care coverage.
- Assists individuals in planning recreational, leisure, educational and day service activities.
- Provides oversight with the medical care of individuals.
- Adheres to BARC’s policies, DDS Licensing Regulations, QSR expectations, Board of Health and Department of Labor regulations and any other applicable agency expectations.
- Maintains individuals’, BARC program, management, and all other necessary records while maintaining confidentially and HIPAA standards. Completes and maintains required documentation.
- Participates in the recruitment, orientation, and on-going training of staff. Participates in staff meetings.
- Physically capable of transferring, assisting with transfers and lifting persons who require physical assistance.
- Must obtain and maintain all required certifications and trainings.
- Strong working knowledge of computers.
- Performs other duties related to program needs or individual needs, as assigned by Manager or Director team.
Work Environment: The Residential Manager environment can vary each day. A typical day could include office work, providing direct care, transport to doctor, work support or community activities and more.
Required Trainings Provided: Employees are required to be certified in CPR/First Aid (four hours every 2 years), 21-hour Medication Certification course and exam, Physical Management Techniques (seven hours), Abuse and Neglect (three hours), etc. Training may require formalized testing. Existing certifications may be accepted. Three-day new hire orientation 9:00 am - 4:00 pm required.
