Our life-changing programs equip individuals and families with the resources and skills they need to withstand a financial emergency and begin a journey toward lasting independence and thriving. Britepaths and the Financial Empowerment Center at South County (FECSoCo) are seeking financial empowerment volunteers who are bilingual in English and Spanish to teach classes on personal financial literacy topics, and/or serve as financial coaches and mentors. We offer personal finance classes both virtually and in-person around Fairfax County on weekdays for 1 to 1 hours. Volunteers choose when and how often to teach, with flexible daytime or evening options. A background in finance, CFP, or AFC is required. Requirements
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Knowledge of the fundamentals of personal finance
Working knowledge of Zoom, break-out rooms, and screen sharing
Teaching experience is a plus
Responsibilities
Volunteers must attend a one-hour new volunteer training
Exercise compassion and cultural sensitivity when educating clients of diverse backgrounds
Review class presentation and handouts before class, clarify any questions about the content, promptly with the financial empowerment program manager
Arrive at the location or enter the Zoom class at least 10 minutes before the start time of the class
When asked, complete and submit the class attendance report
