Position Description: JOB TITLE: Shipping/ Receiving Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Shipping Department Supervisor
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt, Hourly
POSITION SUMMARY: Prepares domestic and export shipments including documentation. Coordinates activities of receiving, storing, and shipping materials and products. In absence of Supervisor of Shipping Department, coordinates the activities of shipping/receiving department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interprets invoices, bills of lading and general directions.
Prepares merchandise for domestic and export shipments, including
documentation, and keeps records pertaining thereto. Compares quantity and
identification numbers of merchandise against orders.
Verifies receipt of incoming freight against bills of lading, packing slips and
purchase orders. Performs inspection of incoming goods.
Notification and/or delivery of incoming product to end user.
Confers with Supervisor or VP of Manufacturing on export shipments when
necessary.
Requires organization and interpersonal skills to coordinate with other
departments and outside vendors.
Receives and checks paperwork of incoming literature.
Documentation verification for AIB standards.
General housekeeping, maintenance and organization of the dock and inventory
areas.
Uses Process Shipper software for processing shipments.
Assists in creating of Bill of Lading.
Uses Sage computer program to retrieve information and create documentation.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Able to work with minimal supervision.
Able to assist workers in solving work related problems.
Must be available to work a flexible schedule to accommodate shipping needs.
Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
Must have good basic math skills.
Must be able to become a certified fork lift operator.
Must have previous experience in shipping and receiving department duties.
Must be able to operate a computer and be familiar with Microsoft Office
products.
General Education Diploma.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift/carry 45 lbs without assistance.
Must be able to stand for up to 4 hours at a time.
Must be able to bend, squat, reach, push, pull, climb and walk.
