SUMMARY:
The Asst. Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for working with the Warehouse Supervisor and Warehouse Manager in giving support to the overall operation of the warehouse. Key responsibility areas include supervising and working to increase team performance, following and enforcing established policies and procedures to affect increased efficiency and accuracy, utilizing effective cost controls, and training and retention of warehouse associates. Key Performance Indicators include fill rates with accurate shipping and fulfillment, on-time deliveries, inventory accuracy and excellent team supervision. The Asst. Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for working actively with the Warehouse Supervisor and Warehouse Manager ensuring that financial and operating goals are achieved. The Asst. Warehouse Supervisor reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary Operational Responsibilities-
- Works with the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure the efficient and safe operations of bROK warehouse(s) operational needs which include correct and accurate customer-specific labeling, staging, on time deliveries, palletizing, staging, inventory control practices and shipping of all products and all subsequent operational paraphernalia.
- Helps to meet established goals; including fill rates with accurate shipping and fulfillment as well as on-time deliveries.
- Constantly works to improve processes.
- Assists in product handling and storage planning for efficient warehouse operations.
- Helps to ensure that all trucks are loaded and unloaded in a timely manner to ensure no detention time.
- Assists in tracking inventory levels as needed.
- Make suggestions for productivity improvements.
- Tracks most important warehouse KPIs.
- Helps to identify issues and maintain the facility equipment (water levels in the forklift batteries, dock levelers and doors function properly, stretch wrapper functioning properly) and notifies Warehouse Manager of needed repairs.
- Works with the Warehouse Manager to ensure the daily, weekly, monthly cleaning of the facility (warehouse floor, restrooms, and lunchroom), rat runs, outside dock areas, parking lots and steps.
- Participates in ongoing education to update job knowledge.
- Performs miscellaneous projects as needed, or as directed.
Primary Supervisory Responsibilities-
- Directly supervises approximately 3 to 5 warehouse employees assigned to their team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; participating in monthly plan & reviews; annual appraisals and salary reviews; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Reinforces the mission statement and company values in each employee.
- Directly supervises warehouse employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Participate in building a great team and overseeing their performance.
- Optimize employee workflow.
- Responsible for training, guiding and evaluating new warehouse workers.
- Assist in coaching and counseling team members as needed; upholds all company policies and procedures.
- Support training and recognition of employees at all levels and maintains a team-oriented environment.
- Enforces safety/security standards and procedures in compliance with a healthy work environment and legal requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS:
Associates/Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or relevant fields not required but preferred and/or 3 years similar experience in warehouse operations and supervision. Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods is preferred. Forklift Operation Certification. Ability to work overtime as needed. Ability to manage inventory – accuracy of pulling orders, on time fulfillment of orders, cycle counts and deliveries. Ability to analyze data and provide insights from data. Critical thinker and problem-solving skills. Excellent supervision and time-management skills. Team player with great interpersonal and communication skills.
