The Bronx Center for Science and Mathematics (BCSM) is looking for a Special Education Teacher to teach math! BCSM is a top-performing high school located in the Bronx at 1363 Fulton Ave in the Morrisania community. The Special Education Teacher is expected to provide students with age and achievement level
appropriate instruction designed to promote the full development of students.
Minimum qualifications include:
1. Valid New York State Teacher Certificate
2. Successful Fingerprint Clearance
3. I-9 Employment Eligibility
4. Completion of mandatory training sessions
5. Passion for working with high school students
6. Interest in teaching in both a self-contained and ICT setting for Algebra 1 and Geometry
Major responsibilities include:
- developing, managing, and implementing the IEP for a subset of students
- curriculum development and modification based on IEP goals and objectives
- long and short term lesson plan preparation
- knowledge of subject material and student evaluation
- development an maintenance of parent/teacher and student/teacher relationships
- participation in meetings and professional development, and so on!
