We encourage anyone to apply if interested! Pay rate is $34.16 per regular hour and $51.24 per overtime hour. Overtime is for any hours past 8 in a given day and Saturdays are automatic overtime!
Job Summary:
The Dump Truck Driver is primarily responsible for driving a tri or quad-axle dump truck. This individual will be delivering construction materials to and from job sites. The individual is responsible for the safety of their truck and materials being hauled. Working in a team atmosphere with Brooks Constructions Supervisors will be required.
Essential Job Functions (*=Non-essential tasks):
- Daily pre-trip truck inspections on dump truck
- Operating a dump truck for various types of construction jobs
- Operate a dump truck to get able to back spread stone, gravel, and/or related construction materials
- Operate a dump truck to be able to dump into a spreader or asphalt paver hopper
- Maintains logs and records in compliance with DOT regulations
- Basic geographic knowledge of northeastern Indiana. Ability to use a tablet for work orders and maps.
- Willing to work various shifts based on the needs of the job and overtime
- Coordinate repairs needed on a truck in a timely manner
- Must be able to lift 50lbs and meet all physical requirements of the position
- Up to date with federal or state regulations related to items being transported
- Willing to work in a team atmosphere
- Positive attitude and cooperative team spirit
- Able to adapt quickly to change throughout the workday and/or workweek
- Assist others in department as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Experience:
- Must hold and maintain a minimum of a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License valid for manual transmissions
- Minimum of 2 years' experience driving a dump truck
- Previous hands-on construction experience is preferred, with some knowledge of heavy construction equipment
- Pass all pre-employment drug and/or alcohol test as required by the Company policy and if applicable by DOT regulations
- Highly desire a member in good standing with the local Teamsters union or willingness to become a member
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job may be considered.
