Position Summary: The Shipping and Receiving Associate will be responsible for the successful and efficient execution of Purchase order receipts, shipment of goods, storage, inventory update and sampling of incoming raw materials. Understand all SOPs, GMPs & HACCP regulations to ensure product safety, worker’s safety, worry free services and quality product to our customers along with the proper use of all equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the successful execution of all warehouse activities related to shipping and receiving
· Manage the flow of goods, ensuring that products are accurately received, inspected and stored.
· Ensure that all shipping and receiving policies & procedures are followed.
· Ensure all shipping and receiving paperwork is completed in a timely manner
· Samples raw materials being received and submitted to QA.
· Apply labels to all containers of incoming raw materials.
· Performs Purchase order receipts in SAGE ERP system.
· Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate shipments and deliveries.
· Loading and unloading shipments via Forklift or Pallet Jack
· Collaborate with suppliers, vendors and internal teams to resolve any shipping or receiving issues. Provide updates on shipment statuses and address any concerns in a timely manner.
· Prepare, pack and arrange UPS & FedEX parcel shipments.
· Cross train with Shipping and Receiving coordinator to act as a backup.
· Pick, pack/wrap, label and stage outgoing shipments
· Perform quality checks to identify and replace leaking/damaged materials.
· Ensure the warehouse remains neat and orderly
· Work closely with other team members to meet daily operational goals
· Communicate effectively with supervisors and management regarding any issues or concerns
· Perform tasks in accordance with OSHA regulations, ensuring proper lifting techniques and equipment use.
· Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· 3 years experience in shipping or receiving food products/flavors highly desired.
· 3 years experience working in a food manufacturing warehouse environment
· Hazmat certified highly desired.
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, two-year college degree or equivalent preferred or any appropriate combination of education and relevant work experience
· A team player with the willingness to “do whatever it takes to get the job done”
· Ability to multitask, as well as prioritize and handle conflicting objectives
· A strong understanding of FIFO rotation and lot code traceability
· Must be dedicated to meeting the requirements and expectations of both internal and external customers
· Strong communication, organization skills
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, decimal numbers and fractions
· Must be self-motivated and results-oriented, with superior problem-solving skills
· Computer skills – Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
· Experience using UPS and FedEx systems a plus
· Experience using Sage X3 ERP software is highly desired, but experience with any modern ERP system required
· Ability to drive stand-up and sit-down forklifts highly desired
· Fluency in English
Physical Requirements
· The ability to lift 50 pounds multiple times during a workday
· Regularly required to stand, walk, occasionally bend and move around the facility.
· Ability to work with allergens (tree nuts, peanut, dairy and other known allergens).
· Ability to use the appropriate personal safety equipment and spill kits as provided to address accidental discharge of raw materials in the facilities.
Work Environment
· Regular trips out to the warehouse and production areas with exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, noise levels, extreme temperature conditions, flammable & hazardous liquids, raw materials, and allergens.
Personal Protective Equipment
· Non-slip steel-toed shoes are required on the Production Floor and Warehouse.
· Hairnets, facial hair nets, gloves, safety glasses and ear plugs are required to be worn on the Production Floor and Warehouse.
· Lab coats, uniforms or coveralls are mandatory on the Production Floor and Warehouse.
