Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED and college credits in early childhood are required;
- NYS Teacher Assistant Certification-(ATAS) within six months of hire date.
- State Central Registry Clearance; Workshop- School Violence Intervention and Prevention.
- Good communication skills and a demonstrated willingness and aptitude working for individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.
Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Assist the assigned teacher as requested in all areas of the daily classroom routine.
- Assist the children as requested by the teacher; maintain health and safety of the classroom environment by performing assigned tasks.
- May be required to attend evening meetings.
- Prepare classroom materials as requested by teacher.
