Brookwood Financial Partners, LLC, (“Brookwood”), seeks an experienced Portfolio Accountant to work directly for the Controller.
Brookwood is a private equity firm that has acquired and managed over $3.7 billion of assets including 200 commercial real estate properties, seven operating companies, and 451 gas stations and convenience stores across the United States. Brookwood clients are comprised of high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors.
Position Summary
The Portfolio Accountant will:
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of real estate investments, including;
- Maintaining full responsibility for the general ledger, associated account reconciliations, and depreciation work papers;
- Preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements, variance analysis, and cash flow projections;
- Maintaining reserve analysis and projections;
- Preparing quarterly and annual reports for investors;
- Preparing financial statements, footnotes, and work papers for annual audits; and
- Assisting in the preparation of year-end tax returns and associated work papers.
- Assist Asset Managers and Property Managers in all financial aspects of portfolio operations, including assistance with budgeting and reforecasting.
- Work directly with the Controller and CFO with respect to portfolio and company financial analysis.
Job Requirements
The position requires a bachelor’s degree, knowledge of tax and GAAP reporting, excellent analytical skills, an ability to communicate effectively and a proficiency in Excel and Word. A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required. Prior experience with commercial real estate, Yardi software, and complex ownership structures are helpful. The individual must have the ability to multi-task and work independently.
