Responsibilities:
The Broome-Tioga BOCES Virtual Learning Academy (VLA) is seeking a flexible and student-focused virtual substitute teacher to support students in grades 4-12.
- Deliver pre-planned lessons provided by the classroom teacher using virtual platforms (e.g., Google Meet, Zoom, Google Classroom).
- Facilitate class discussions and activities in a remote setting.
- Take attendance and report absences
- Monitor student participation and engagement during live sessions.
- Maintain a positive and respectful virtual classroom environment
- Redirect off-task behavior and encourage participation
- Assist students with basic technology issues
Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred. Associate's degree considered.
- Access to a personal computer and a reliable internet connection
- Experience working with students in a virtual or hybrid environment preferred.
