Broomfield FISH is a nonprofit whose mission is to meet our neighbors’ basic human needs and provide them with the hope and tools to rise out of poverty. FISH is based in Broomfield, CO and offers food, emergency financial assistance and one-on-one support to residents living at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines. The focus of this position will be on recruiting and retaining volunteers, as well as planning and organizing events that support Broomfield FISH.
QUALITIES/SKILLS NEEDED

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 2-year job related experience in volunteer or event management
- Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Experience, ability and willingness to work as a team with diverse staff, volunteers, and participants
- Ability to serve families with diverse economic, social, racial and cultural backgrounds
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and multitask
- Flexible, proactive, adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Proficient with Google Suite applications and Microsoft office. Knowledge of Salesforce a plus
- Friendly and open demeanor
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate well with people from all backgrounds without judgement

JOB DUTIES
- Recruit new volunteers from throughout the community to assist with team tasks
- Work with teams to determine volunteer needs (specific roles, desired qualities, fit on shifts, etc.)
- Provide orientation to all volunteers and then schedule training with appropriate teams
- Schedule and supervise community groups and individuals who volunteer at FISH
- Build relationships with volunteer groups from neighborhoods, businesses and civic organizations
- Manage volunteer database and maintain accurate records of volunteers and hours during the year
- Maintain communication with FISH volunteers and staff through email, phone calls, and personal notes.
- Assist in coordinating volunteers for special projects and events
- Recruit and train FISH Ambassadors
- Update Volunteer Handbook as needed
- Work as part of the Engagement team that creates an annual fundraising plan and ensure events are on track to reach fundraising goals
- Create and manage work plan for fundraising and appreciation events
- Create, manage, and track budgets for fundraising and appreciation events, including expenses and revenue
- Coordinate staff and volunteers for fundraising and appreciation events
- Coordinate with vendors and sponsors for fundraising and appreciation events
WORK ENVIRONMENT
FISH uses a strengths-based, teaming approach and values a positive, supportive work environment.
Position is 40 hours/week, generally Monday through Friday during regular business hours. Occasional weekend hours/flex time may be required.
COMPENSATION
Range of $42,000 to $48,000 to start, commensurate with experience. Health, nd dental and vision benefits plus a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) policy.
