The Head of Distribution is responsible for leading the marketing, communications, agency relations, and field sales team that support Orchid’s network of agents across the country. The Head of Distribution will drive key strategic sales and business development initiatives for the organization; designing and executing an innovative distribution strategy that effectively promotes a selling, winning and collaborative culture within the distribution management team. This Head of Distribution will report to the President and will effectively engage across functional areas of the enterprise while ensuring our agents and customers are a primary focus in all initiatives. The role will shape the long-term vision/strategy for distribution; aligning with the overall business goals, leveraging industry knowledge/relationships, and data/analytics to drive profitable growth for the enterprise.

How You Will Contribute
- Provides leadership and guidance for the sales messaging and positioning across the brand; and establishes methodologies to measure, track and optimize brand strategies based on critical metrics and KPIs.
- Oversees and coordinates the monitoring and evaluation of the market and our competitors for new products, coverages, systems, processes, etc. This will allow the company to respond to the marketplace changes and demands quickly and effectively.
- Determines compensation strategy, including variable/incentive plans for our agents and teammates.
- Drives appointment strategy around the who and where.
- Creates and executes performance metrics for our network of agency partners.
- Defines and designs marketing tactics and practices; OUA ‘call design’.
- Drives assessment and talent development process.
- Actively represents agent and customer needs/wants in the design of any and/or all customer touching initiatives
- Well informed on macro trends in the insurance space.
- Effectively engages at PL leadership level.
- Drives timely, integrated intel flow (rates, terms, coverages, services, appetites, etc. to product/pricing and underwriting teams.
- Collaborates with fellow department leaders to ensure alignment and integration of distribution strategies.
- Leads digital transformation initiatives to enhance distribution efficiency and effectiveness.
- Champions customer-centric initiatives to improve the overall customer experience and satisfaction.
- Able to effectively engage in complex budgeting, ROI, forecasting, and performance metrics.
- Well versed in financial statements, cost allocations, etc.
- Strong understanding and aptitude for analytics and data-supported decision making.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey ideas and strategies.
- Able to understand strategic and tactical uses of technology sources, applications, etc.
- Proven experience driving strategic vision and actions. Able to effectively think beyond the immediate and urgent to guide the organization and team.
- Strong experience in functional areas outside of marketing and sales. Has a strong understanding of the interconnectedness of the enterprise.
- Ability to be adaptable and resilient in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
- Direct, proven, and successful experience in leading business development teams.
- This position requires extensive travel including overnight stays which may also require the teammate to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle. Acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are a requirement of this position.
