Adventure Park Guide Supervisor (LTE) - NEW Zoo

Brown County is seeking an energetic individual to be a Guide Supervisor at the Adventure Park at the NEW Zoo.  The guide supervisor will assist in daily operations and maintenance of the Adventure Park located at the NEW Zoo in Suamico, WI. The Adventure Park consists of an aerial challenge course, dual racing 1,000-foot zip-lines, 32-foot-high climbing wall, kid’s kourse, fat bike rental fleet, and new aerial canopy tour.  The guide supervisor will be responsible for providing our guests with a recreational and educational experience from start to finish.  This position is in a growing and quickly evolving adventure park industry.   Job duties will include customer service, vending and ticket sales, cash handling, proper use/inspection/fitting of personal protection equipment, group program facilitation, and course inspection. 1. Primary focus is on SAFE overall Adventure Park operations, and program facilitation.
2. Performs point of sale operations and pass sales following county cash handling policies at the Adventure Park.
3. Supervise Adventure Park guides and concession staff.  
4. Will also assist with performing adventure course inspection and maintenance.
5. Facilitate experiential education group programs.  Candidate shall have facilitation experience or the ability/interest to learn group facilitation theory.  
6. Coordinates daily operations of fat bike rental program.

2. Maintain quality working relationships with co-workers and visitors
3. Assist with equipment and course set up and take down
4. Assist with admissions and concessions
5. Assist with grounds maintenance 
6. Maintain records as required by supervisor
7. Lead bike rental program operations
8. Assist in daily operation of the canopy tour
9. Assist in inspections and documenting inspections of ziplines, aerial challenge course, kids kourse, climbing wall, and aerial canopy tour
10. Create and develop programming for both the Adventure Park and aerial canopy tour

1. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Marketing, Communications preferred
2. Must be 18 years or older
3. Group program planning and facilitation experience
4. Able to complete the appropriate training and receive Level 1 Site Specific Certification sponsored by Brown County.  Our park follows all ACCT training and safety policies.   

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Work varying shifts including weekends
2. Able to work in adverse outdoor conditions 
3. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
4. Able to wear a full body harness

HOURS:

1. Guide Supervisor should expect to work many varied shifts as needed including nights, holidays and weekends
2. Guide Supervisor is a very active position which requires long workdays
3. The Adventure Park is open daily 10am – 6pm during the operating season
