What are the responsibilities and job description for the PIPING DESIGNER position at Brown & Root?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Position will support plant engineer/construction personnel in design of piping systems and retrofit projects.
- Will evaluate SOW using P&IDs and specifications to design in alignment with industry standards.
- Responsible for shooting elevations (as required) with transit and laser level.
- Responsible for performing Laser Scanning Services (LFM Server)
- Will provide field support: ISOs, equipment verification and layout, Tie-ins (existing to new piping), P&ID corrections and updates.

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College degree or Drafting Technology Certificate is preferred, not required.
- 5-8 years’ experience in Piping design
- Project experience in Petrochemical preferred
- Experience utilizing AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with 3D Design Tools
- Experience using Laser Scanning Technology and LFM Server Preferred
- Knowledge of working in EDMS drawing management systems.
- Preparation of Project Closeouts and Engineering/Construction Packages
- Field Experience: ISOs, 2D Equipment, Plot Plan Sketches
- Experience working on new piping systems and retrofit projects preferred.
- Active TWIC preferred or able to obtain.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to physically conduct field trips for review of project materials, equipment and engage with field personnel.
- Work schedules may include extended work hours.
