FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in sanitation duties in a food processing establishment according to safety rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Supervise sanitation operations in accordance with federal and state regulations, and plant policies and procedures.
2. Direct cleaning of equipment and work areas.
3. Inspect premises for unsanitary practices and conditions.
4. Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and goals.
5. Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems.
6. Supervise Sanitation resources, including staffing level, to support operations.
7. Follow and enforce company policies and procedures with special attention to safety and food safety.
8. Identify, analyze and solve problems.
9. Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
10. Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
11. Recommend ways to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, standards and safety of the Sanitation department.
12. Recommend ways to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and safety of operations.
13. Train team members and temporary associates; evaluate their performance; recommend disciplinary actions, improvement plans, and promotions.
14. Act and supervise in a way that enhances respect, support, and cooperation within the Sanitation department and its relationship to other departments.
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform activities of workers supervised.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Knowledge of specialized equipment such: high pressure washer, foamer, steam machine, high lift, pallet jack, forklift, water gun.
3. Ability to read, and follow instructions in English
4. Ability to interpret labels in English.
5. Ability to write simple correspondence in English.
6. Ability to verbally communicate instructions, job assignments, and company-based communications to team members in English.
7. Basic arithmetic.
8. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Physical Demands: *
1. Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
2. Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
3. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
4. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
5. Requires distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: *
1. Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.
2. Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration.
3. Regularly exposed to a loud noise level.
4. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.
