Reporting to the President, you will combine technical engineering expertise with business acumen to identify new market opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, and promote the company’s technical solutions. You will identify potential customer segments, establish relationships with clients, and achieve sales targets to ensure Brunson Instrument Company meets customers’ demands and expectations. This role is vital in bridging the gap between technical teams and business development strategies while communicating complex technical information to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand the target markets, industries, and companies for our products and applications and which market strategies can be used to attract clients. Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, demands, and competitive landscapes, adjusting sales strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure a cohesive approach to market penetration and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets in the assigned territory.
  • Identify potential customers and understand their technical and business needs through networking, cold calling, presentations, and referrals.
  • With high-energy, this business development expert will pursue new business opportunities with confidence, with excellent problem solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Set and track sales account targets aligned with Brunson Instrument Company objectives. Maintain funnel and track projects in CRM
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports to management, outlining achieved goals and the necessary actions for maintaining and growing the customer base.
  • Provide customer feedback to the product development teams. Suggest new products or enhancements based on market demands and customer feedback.
  • Engage senior supply chain executives to identify an opportunity, work with the solutions team to develop a solution, and lead the proposal and sales process utilizing the leadership team as necessary to close deals
  • Working with sales team members and the President to define the sales strategies for different prospects
  • Drive end-user and OEM adoption of Brunson Instrument Company offerings through events and training, seminars, webinars, demonstrations, and other activities as appropriate
  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance to potential and current customers, helping them to understand the correct solution for their needs
  • Prepare and deliver quotations, proposals, and follow-up on customer inquiries
  • Ensure all customer communications are prompt, professional, and solution oriented
  • Demonstrate ability to relate client business challenges to Brunson Instrument Company solutions
  • Prepare correspondence and materials for individual prospects that are customized to the client
  • Develop a complete understanding of the customers' organizational structure and key buying influences of assigned accounts
  • Maintain knowledge of competitive products to enable the capability to effectively address and dispel objections to Brunson Instrument Company solutions
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers to ensure ongoing business can customer satisfaction
  • Lead interactions with clients throughout the sales process and utilize supporting resources as appropriate
  • Actively work and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Product Development Engineering to create solutions with necessary inputs to develop the proposal
  • Other activities as assigned by leadership team


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • High level of autonomy and self-motivation
  • Ability to create and deliver technical presentations tailored to the audience’s needs
  • Strong understanding and belief in sales performance metrics
  • Strategic thinking and strong problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft 365
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and looking at a computer
  • Light physical effort – able to lift up to 50lbs at times
  • Must be able to travel a minimum or 50% to meet to meet regional needs
  • Proven experience in a sales engineering or business development role
