Brunswick Hospital Center (BHC) , is a 146-bed private, acute-care psychiatric hospital that is licensed by The New York State Office of Mental Health and accredited by The Joint Commission and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Brunswick Hospital Center caters to a diverse population throughout the NY Metropolitan region and is located 45 minutes from Manhattan and in close proximity to all major expressways and the LIRR / local bus service.
We are currently seeking a Registered Dietitian (FT & PT) to work in our Nutrition Services Department.
In this role, you will :
- Perform preliminary and comprehensive nutritional assessments of patients, creating written patient nutritional care plans, providing written and verbal diet instructions, and providing written and verbal information on food and drug interactions.
- Attend care-planning conferences and interdisciplinary meetings.
- Design and provide group nutritional education.
- Ensure team provides optimal nutritional care.
- Attend and serves on Facility committees
- Maintain optimal relations with Nutrition staff and supervision to facilitate daily operations.
- Make patient rounds during meals, verifying patient’s dietary adherence.
- Coordinate Nutrition Services with other related departments (e.g. Medical, Nursing, Social Services).
- Supervise the development of therapeutic diets using appropriate dietary modifications
- Survey food preparation and distribution for safe practices ensuring variety, adequate seasoning, visual appeal, proper temperature, and appropriate portion sizes.

Starting Salary : $33.98 - $35.00 per hour .
