What are the responsibilities and job description for the CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE (Pembroke, GA) position at Bryan County?
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Assists the general public and answers incoming telephone calls; reroutes calls and messages to staff members; provides routine information to the public regarding department operations, policies and procedures.
Assists with utility billing processes; collects utility payments; balances cash drawer on a daily basis; closes accounts; accepts, receives, and collects payments.
Receives and logs in work orders, applications, financial transactions, and various administrative forms and documents; reviews such for completeness.
Assist the general public in filing applications for various county services such as permits, licenses, reviews applications for completeness and verifies that supporting documents are attached.
Accepts payments for various fees, fines, permits, licenses and services; enters data into computer; issues receipts; balances cash receipts against transaction printouts; and posts transactions to cash receipts journal.
Works with various county employees and elected officials, other local and state government officials, businesses, county residents and the general public in performing assigned job duties.
Opens, sorts and distributes incoming mail.
Stocks central office supplies and materials; conducts periodic inventory; orders supplies as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFCATIONS: High School Diploma or GED required, one year of experience in clerical or secretarial work or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
