Responsibilities
Job Summary:
Provides security to BSA by patrolling BSA properties, monitoring video surveillance, inspecting buildings, checking floors for safety, controlling access points, testing alarm equipment, writing detailed and accurate reports, & answering calls for service. Provides excellent customer service by ensuring security and safety to patients, visitors, and staff of BSA properties.
Qualifications
Education/Licensure/Certifications:
- High School or GED preferred
- Must be able to obtain a valid Level II License with the Texas Department of Public Safety, IS 100, 200, 906, 907, & 20 FEMA Certifications within 6 months of employment.
- For insurance purposes, must have a clean driving record and be at least 21 years of age.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Previous law enforcement, military and/or security experience preferred
- Good physical condition
- Exhibits desire to exemplify the BSA culture, including the BSA Mission, Vision and the BSA Way
- Demonstrates positive, customer focused interpersonal and business telephone skills
- Uses strong communication skills including:
- English verbal skills
- Reads and understands English language
- Utilizes interpersonal skills and ability to interact with customers and healthcare professionals at all levelsDemonstrates legible writing skills and penmanship in English language
- Is be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to rapidly changing situations
- Can deal with employees, patients, physicians, and visitors in stressful situations
- Is well versed in HIPAA laws and keep patient documentation and information confidential
- Can multi-task constantly and tolerate interruptions
- Has ability to function in an occasionally hostile environment with patients/customers who are ill or hurt
- Is comfortable in making decisions independently
- Demonstrates good public relations and work well with patients, visitors, and other employees
- Possesses basic computer and keyboarding skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Comply with regulatory requirements, guidelines, and policies of the hospital.
