This position is responsible for monitoring current business conditions, essential to meeting organizational safety, product integrity, service, and cost reduction goals. This professional will assist in new product design and has knowledge of lean manufacturing principles. This role works closely with production, product development, and supply chain team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure product design engineering projects, initiatives; processes are in conformance with established policies/objectives.
- Maintain product engineering drawing; Maintain engineering document control per ISO procedures. Maintain product standards within regulatory requirements and changes are discussed with corporate reps.
- Maintain and improve existing products in alignment with appropriate national standards.
- Resource for manufacturing cross-functional teams.
- Support manufacturing to overcome process problems.
- Support QA in obtaining exceptional product reliability.
- Supplies quality department with tools used to monitor product quality.
- Evaluate competitive equipment, and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases related to product.
- Coordinate new product and process implementation into manufacturing and support Lean events.
- Provide technical support as needed.
- Facilitate Engineering Change Requests and Notifications.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Experience in product engineering, application engineering, and/or manufacturing process engineering with knowledge of Lean manufacturing.
- Experience in product design engineering, with knowledge of Lean manufacturing.
- Experience developing effective process FEMA’s
- Welding, Stamping, Forming, and Assembly Processes
- Geometric Tolerancing
- AutoCAD
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in engineering required. Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering Preferred.
SKILLS REQUIRED: Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office; design & mechanical engineering skills; ability to read, analyze and interpret drawings (GD&T), technical procedures and governmental regulations,; tooling and process analysis; product and process knowledge; effective communication verbal and written in all directions; innovation; ability to work independently or in a project team environment and within a defined deadline; ability to utilize mathematical concepts to identify opportunities, manipulate data and solve problems.
