What You’ll Do:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Restorative Practices Youth Training and Recruitment specialist works inside various South King County school districts facilitating youth civic-engagement curriculum, youth centric restorative circles training, and collaborative school based committees around implementation of restorative practice strategies inside of traditional K-12 educational institutions.. Time will be split amongst current in-school and community-based projects. In this full-time position you will focus on facilitation of Build 2 Lead’s “civic-champion” curriculum, learning trauma informed care practices, gaining foundational training or advanced training in implementing restorative practices and working to build restorative practice frameworks for our partner schools. Your initial training will consist of restorative practice training, guided overview of our current “civic-champion” curriculum and framework, guided introduction to our network of partners and restorative practice initiatives, and working directly with the Build 2 Lead programmatic leadership team as you learn more about the vision and communities which Build2Lead serves. More of what you’ll do in this role:
Direct programming
● Facilitate “Civic-Champion” programming in-school, afterschool and in community. Topics include best practices and strategies for youth advocacy, foundational understanding of criminal justice, education, and healthcare systems, and developing policy memos for students in our advanced cohorts.
● Recruit students for our community-based/afterschool civic engagement opportunities such as the P.O.W.E.R listening sessions and the Youth Executive Committees.
● Capture and track student key performance indicators for data detailing student progress.
● Co-facilitate B2L Legacy meetings and help organize current and future initiatives.
Case management
● Manage a caseload of maximum 60 (In-school/Community Based) during the school year and 30 during the summer.
● Facilitate student's needs assessment and refer to our case management staff through our youth enrollment forms.
● Provide students with connections to resources through B2L partner organizations.
● Attend student check and connect sessions as needed to track progress.
Stakeholder engagement
● Attend school-based meetings with key leaders and program partners in the building, build effective connections with community partner meetings in person and virtually and regularly attend B2L team huddles.
● Meet monthly with Key partners to discuss shared students and progress of partnership.
● Attend relevant B2L Legacy monthly partner meetings.
● Support the coordination of B2L Legacy events.
● Recruit participants and presenters for B2L Legacy events.
● Attend pertinent staff meetings.
● Attend B2L Board Annual Retreat Meeting

Individuals with at least a bachelor’s degrees in Human Services, Education, Social Work, or some sort of relevant field -OR- 2-years’ experience working with youth are encouraged to apply. Must have some experience with restorative practices or healing circles. If you believe you have experience which has prepared you for this role, you are encouraged to apply.
