What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pediatric Speech Pathologist position at Building Blocks Learning Center, LLC?

Since 2004, Building Blocks Learning Center has been a leading organization providing multi-service developmental and educational services, helping children reach their full potential. We are comprised of therapy and education professionals with a united focus on offering the highest level of care. Building Blocks aids children ages 0-5yrs and provides Occupational, Speech and Physical Therapies as well as Special Education services, in home, school, facility or designated community locations throughout New York State.


CFY/Speech Language Pathologist Job Description:

  • Conduct one-on-one sessions with children to improve their development.
  • Create a treatment plan and instructional materials to support and measure child’s progress, and implement achievable functional goals;
  • Developing and implementing individualized services plans for assigned cases
  • Meet the child’s specific needs, interests and abilities;
  • Collaborate with parents and the interdisciplinary team members such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, social workers, etc., to develop and or modify program activities in order to maximize the child’s functional skills;
  • Train parents in carry over activities and techniques to promote the child’s functional and behavioral development throughout the week and in between sessions;
  • Preparing daily session notes, quarterly progress reports, and or justification letters, and document the child’s progress toward meeting established objectives and according to program rules and regulations;
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences, parent conferences, case conferences, as mandated.
  • Adheres to all current federal and state laws, as well as Building Blocks’ policy and procedures, including the safeguarding of confidential healthcare information and compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Reports immediately any suspected incidents of child abuse or neglect to the Child Abuse Hotline.
  • Attends staff/agency meeting
  • Perform all other duties relevant to the position as requested.


Sessions:

Pay is based on per session. Sessions can run anywhere from 30-59 minutes.

Salary : $38 - $60
